day 4 of 8, trucking along here at work....
So I got some things accomplished this week, which was nice.I put that Artscape "stained glass" film on my closet window (yes, there is a window in my closet! lol) to defeat any would-be voyeurs from observing my closet activities (dresing and undressing), as well as protecting the tops of my shirts from UV damage and sun bleaching (yes, the sun really does bleach clothes! i'm not paranoid, it's happened before). In any case, it's really neat bcause during the day, beautiful filtered colorful light shines into my closet, and at night I can turn on the closet light and shine a colorful beacon to the world. As the window is hexagonal in shape, it really does look neat from the outside. Next project: Trav's closet window (slightly more complicated because it has panes, and I'm not sure whether I should do the same color "stained glass" or buy another roll of the more traditional design.... mine looks sort of like a watercolor painting rather than a church-type stained-glass window, sort of Georgia O'Keeffey) and the upper half of the panes in the upstairs bathroom and the hallway. (I'll leave the lower half untinted so allow the plants to get real sunlight, and also so we can look out and see who's at the door) I just love this Artscape stuff! It really is easy to apply and looks fantastic. (for those curious, it's at Home Depot for about $18 a roll about the size of a baseball bat)Also, I have been actually working out for the last 5 or 6 days or so. i have done the treadmill for 27 minutes a day since Monday. A couple of times I even lifted weights and stuff. Yippee! I really need to get in shape.... because I really am a lazy bum, you know. It takes 21 days of doing something every single day to make it a habit.... so i guess I am almost one-third of the way there. We'll see if it sticks *this* time! heheI also finally cleaned my dirty pink coat. This was no small accomplishment. The story of this coat is boring but I'll tell it anyway: when I was in St. Louis Christmas before last, my now mother-in-law Judy got me a down coat for Christmas. Except that they didn't have black (my color of choice), so i went with a pastel pink color. Well, Oklahoma winters are dirty as hell, and before long my lovely pink coat had dirty (we're talking *black* with dirt) areas all over, particularly the arms, and wherever the fabric stood up (along seams, the collar, etc.) Totally gross; it made me look like a bum. I hated wearing it in public because it made me feel so shabby. Anyway, I hardly ever wash the coat because until January, we had no washer and dryer, and once the coat is washed, you have to stick it in the dryer for 3 HOURS, what a pain. Anyway, imagine my dismay when after running the coat through the wash, NONE of the dirt had budged! Now it's soaking wet AND dirty as hell. So in desperation, I got the bathtub scrubber (we're talking like a plastic Brillo pad with a handle, the one that is shaped like an iron, for scrubbing the bathtub and grout) and some big yellow rubber gloves from the bathroom. i put on the gloves, soaked the scrub brush with the liquid detergent (ALL Free Clear), and went to work..... and, to my surprise, it worked like a charm! The dirt rubbed right off the coat! 30 minutes of elbow grease, one more wash and 2 rinse cycles later, i was pulling a pristine, like-new pink coat out of my washing machine, yay! Dried it for 3 hours and it looks, literally, like new. I'm thrilled. Sorry i made everyone sit through that, but I was quite proud of myself! And the final accomplishment of the last 5 days: Got the husband to start putting the damn toilet lid down. Finally! How did I do it? I took a Sharpie permanent marker and wrote, on the underside of both the upstairs and downstairs toilet lid, the words "down please." Magic! No more gaping open toilets. Ladies, you have to do this, it works like a charm and it took me three years to think of it so this will save you the frustration in advance. :)In other news, the dog has decided it loves me and wants to kiss me every morning, eiher that or it really likes my perfume, or something. In any case, I wake up to dog tongue coming precariously close to actually touching my face every morning.Ick.The negative ions in the atmosphere are making me feel nice today. Now if it doesn't actually go all the way and rain, it will be a perfect overcast January day.Just remembered it's Eric---er, Tana's birthday today. Wonder how old (s)he is? I need to send her an email. (Eric/Tana is my ex-boyfriend, my one true love in high school who recently became a woman) It's also Freya's birthday today.... haven't talked to her since before the wedding, wonder how all these birthday people are doing?

ok, i'm back....
back from weekend and here for 8 days in a row! bleah.... oh well.... feeling ok now, a bit sore since I just started another exercise regime, we'll see how this goes, the only way I can usually motivate myself to go to the gym is when trav drags me along... but since they have a little gym room here at AOL, i figure I can go after work (at midnight? yeah right but this is the plan anyway) and do 27 min on treadmill and then do some arm crap. And then I can go home, where there are wimpy dumbbells for me to use, and do more arm stuff. Then I need to make sure the bills are paid and then I can go to sleep! Yay! :)

Your soul is ...
Your soul is bound to the White Rose: ThePure."I've been waiting in the dark for a longtime, shining my beacon of hope through theshadow. If you see me, don't you hide youreyes from me."The White Rose is associated with purity, honor, and chastity. It is governed by the goddessArtemis and its sign is The Cross, or Agape. As a White Rose, you are a person of your word. You may have a strong moral code, butregardless of your virtue, you always stay trueto yourself. To you, love is the most pure ofemotional forms and it's just a matter ofwaiting for it to bless you. Some people maysay you are too idealistic, but it's onlybecause you don't want to mess things up.What Rose Is Your Soul Bound To? brought to you by Quizilla

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You have been Sorted into Hufflepuff - the onehouse you can truly depend on. Contrary topopular belief, Hufflepuff is not the house forall the people who didn't fit into other Houses- completely the opposite, in fact. In myexperience on my own Magic school, the peoplein Hufflepuff don't necessarily get the highestmarks, but they are ALWAYS the most popular, and are the most intriguing of all the Housesat the school. Nearly every Hufflepuff has somekind of mystery or intrigue behind them, andyou are no exception. Our test picked up on thefact that you have that extra spark that makesyou just right for this house - the house thatstands for friendship, loyalty - everythingthat every other House desperately needs moreof. ok, another one:
You are one of the few out there whose wings aretruly ANGELIC. Selfless, powerful, anddivine, you are one blessed with a certaincosmic grace. You are unequalled inpeacefulness, love, and beauty. As a Being ofLight your wings are massive and a soft whiteor silver. Countless feathers grace them andradiate the light within you for all the worldto see. You are a defender, protector, andcaretaker. Comforter of the weak and forgiverof the wrong, chances are you are takenadvantage of once in awhile, maybe quite often. But your innocence and wisdom sees the good ineveryone and so this mistreatment does not makeyou colder. Merciful to the extreme, you willtry to help misguided souls find themselves andpeace. However not all Angelics allowthemselves to be gotten the better of - theSeraphim for example will be driven to fightingfor the sake of Justice and protection of thoseless powerful. Congratulations - and don't everchange - the world needs more people like you. *~*~*Claim Your Wings - Pics and Long Answers*~*~* brought to you by Quizilla

numb
yeah, so i went to the dentist today. my tongue (right side only) is numb. my ear was numb for a while too. that is the absolute WORST time to get an inner ear itch. nothing you can do, man! sucks to be you!last time they got tired of the "this shyt wears off too soon and yes, i can feel that AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" and so they gave me this wonder-shot which actually lasted, i joke not, until 1am that night. twelve freaking hours! it was tres insane. this time though, they just gave me the normal shit so hopefully i can eat before i go to work at three. aw yeah.up there in the first paragraph, when i made the parenthetical statement saying it was the right side of my tongue only that is numb, it reminded me of "letters from a nut" because that guy always makes stupid pointless parenthetical statements like that. i would quote the book at this time, but i gave my only copy to a dude at work, and haven't had a chance to get a replacement off half.com yet. long live half.com!

barking up the wrong tree...
Ok, so I let the dog out today and it went and started literally barking up a tree. For 2 hours. Nonstop. In twos: "ARF-arf," with the second "arf" being slightly lower in pitch than the first "arf" in each set. I could not get the dog to come inside. It only stopped and came in when trav got home for lunch. Here's the weird part, though: only now do I really wonder what it was barking AT. it's starting to worry me that i have been AOL employee of the month four times in the 2 years and 3 months i have been here. the Scott Peck book i'm in right now mentioned "organization people" last night when i was reading it. Am i an "organization person," as in, am I an "AOL person?" Am I like a "part of the system" or something? I wonder if I would, like, defend the Company in a conversation with non-Company people. Egads. So i guess i'm going to have to add some people to my friends list, i wonder how I do that? I feel retarded today. These dumb people I'm talking to are starting to rub off on me. So yeah, I guess this is not your typical "first entry" but I am too distracted to write anything meaningful and that would "set the tone" for my journal at this point in time. lol
